World Antibiotic Awareness Week Celebration

By Acharya Tankeshwar •  Updated: 05/13/17 •  1 min read

On the occasion of “World Antibiotic Awareness Week 2016 (14-20 November 2016)”, my institution Patan Academy of Health Sciences-School of Medicine and Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU)-Nepal organized various programs. These programs aim to increase awareness of antibiotic resistance and to encourage best practices among general public, health workers and policy makers to avoid the further emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance.

According to WHO, the theme of the campaign is “Antibiotics: Handle with Care, reflects the overarching message that antibiotics are a precious resource and should be preserved. They should be used to treat bacterial infections, only when prescribed by a certified human or animal health professional. Antibiotics should never be shared or saved for the future.”

We have organized essay  and poster competition among MBBS students and Walkathon.

Here are few selected posters of this competition.
